On April 30th 2015 Tesla, well-known American automotive and energy storage company, launched Powerwall, its first home battery that charges using electricity generated from solar panels.
Powerwall is easy to install, compact and beautifully designed, and at the same time takes advantage of Tesla’s proven automotive battery technology to power home safely and economically. Powerwall comes in 10 kWh weekly cycle and 7 kWh daily cycle models. Both are guaranteed for ten years and are sufficient to power most homes during peak evening hours.
This rechargeable lithium-ion battery allows storing energy, enabling the customers to maximize self-consumption of solar power generation. Tesla aims to be an energy innovation company: Tesla Energy, which is a suite of batteries for homes, businesses and utilities, fosters a clean energy ecosystem, moving forward with its goal of zero emission power generation. Could this be the beginning of an energy revolution?
