A British Solar Power company looking to expand in the home market and grow its operations in South America has secured over £16.5 million in banking loans.



Solarcentury will invest in solar farms and rooftop projects and said it was pleased to be partnering with Santander Bank who is very active in the UK solar market.

The UK company was set up in 1998, and won multiple awards for product innovation.

Neil Perry, chief financial officer at Solarcentury said in an interview with BusinessGreen: "We were seeking to build on our success of last year, which saw reeves grow by £80 million and delivering pre-tax profits of £24 million."

Solarcentury said it was looking to grow in Latin America markets where the market for solar energy is starting to take off and where Santander is particularly strong.
