Malaysia at the cutting-edge of green technology - IGEM 2015
Before 2007 Malaysia did not have a solar industry, today it the world's 4th largest producer of solar cells behind China, Taiwan and Japan. Besides the undeniable contribution of multinational corporations which heavily invested in the last years, Malaysia's government efforts to attract investors and promote its favourable manufacturing environment (a combination of low-cost labour and highly-skilled engineers) have been the main driver of this unexpected growth.

Green innovation: Galapagos airport uses only renewable energy
The Galapagos Islands are an archipelago of volcanic islands declared UNESCO World Heritage Site for being a unique “living museum and showcase of evolution”. Indeed, the extreme isolation of these islands led to the development of unusual animal life. This untouched environment beauty inspired Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection. Today, the Galapagos Island will be known also because of its “green” airport. Galapagos airport is the only airport in the world that uses only solar and wind energy as sources of power.
